Surfing - The Troncones area has various types of surfing spots ranging from novice to expert. There's the surf right in the back yard, which depending on the conditions can range from novice to expert. It's basically a beach break that peels both right and left. A 10 minutes walk north on the beach will take you to Manzanillo Bay which is a beautiful left hand rocky reef point. The waves can range from intermediate to expert depending on the conditions. On ideal days it produces a thick, hollow, and challenging wave that can produce some killer tube rides...but beware of the rocks! Just 15 minutes up the road (by car) you will find a couple more points and small bays, including beach breaks, that produce fun waves that range from novice to intermediate. If you want some of the longest waves in Mexico you can drive 30-45 minutes up the coast to Salidita and The Ranch for some of the best point breaks in North America. The waves at both of these spots can produce 100-300 yard rides! La Salidita is a left hand version of Surfrider in Malibu California and is a great longboard/funboard wave but is also a lot of fun on a shortboard on the right day. The Ranch is basically Mexico's version of Trestles in San Clemente California and is one of Mexico best point breaks. It has a left and right point that produces some powerful and perfect waves. Both these spots are accessible by car or boat.
